Peer Support Resources
Peer support plays an invaluable role for individuals seeking alternatives/supplements to traditional support for mental health and substance use challenges. If you're in the Waterloo-Wellington area, Self Help & Peer Support, a program under the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington (CMHA WW), is there to help. They offer both in-person and virtual groups in Guelph, Kitchener, and Cambridge, Ontario, facilitated by certified peer support workers through Peer Support Canada and highly trained volunteers—all of whom have lived experience, a perspective that is too often undervalued.
These supportive environments empower participants to share their journeys, gain new insights, and experience genuine understanding. For more information and to view the group calendar, visit Self Help & Peer Support.
