About Me
Hi! I’m Marcey (Mar) Gray—artist, tea enthusiast, animal lover, and mental health advocate.
Whether I’m immersed in a new art project, discovering the perfect tea blend, or offering support on someone’s mental health journey, I approach everything with creativity, warmth, and compassion.
Having lived with mental health challenges for much of my life, I’ve explored many paths to healing—and art has always been my anchor. Despite the discouraging predictions made about my future as a child, based solely on my diagnoses, I’ve defied those expectations and turned my lived experience into a source of strength and empowerment.
Today, I’m proud to serve as a mental health advocate and peer support worker, with nearly 20 years of experience. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing organizations like the Canadian Mental Health Association (Grand River and Waterloo Wellington Branches), Trellis Mental Health and Developmental Services, and collaborating with places like Guelph Enabling Garden, Grand River and Freeport Hospitals, Homewood Health Centre, The Working Centre, and Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre. Through these partnerships, I’ve had the honour of helping countless individuals rediscover their confidence, sense of well-being, and connection— using the transformative power of art as a healing tool.
I specialize in supporting people facing anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, and isolation. I’ve been there myself, so I truly understand how overwhelming these struggles can be. My approach is laid back, empathetic, and playful—always driven by what you need and where you want to go. I believe in celebrating what you can do, not focusing on what you can’t.
Healing is possible, and I’d be honored to walk beside you on your journey.
